A Firm Foundation

"Firm Foundation"

Matthew 7:24-25

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25.) And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

When you think of a rock, you think of something rigid, not easily broken. Not easily penetrated, we've heard the phrase "it's rock solid." This parable spoken by Jesus is a comparison of what will happen when your "house" is built on a firm foundation, which is the Word of God and Jesus himself.

Jesus himself is the rock, he is unshakeable, unmovable, and that same power dwells in you. When the rain falls, and the flood comes, when the winds blow and beat on your house, your mind, your situation, stand on your firm foundation.

Build on a firm foundation that is rooted in faith and truth, which is the Word of God! Delight yourself in the Lord. And once you do this, Psalms 1:3 states And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

You will be rooted and grounded in the faith, and no matter what comes, you will not be moved because you are standing firm on the ROCK!
