Coming out of Hiding

“Come out of hiding”
Judges 6:11-12
11). The angel of the LORD came and sat down under the terebinth tree in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshing wheat in the winepress in order to hide it from the Midianites. 12). And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The LORD is with you, a mighty man of valor!

Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress, a pit in the ground where he would be less visible and less vulnerable to the enemy’s attack. The Lord sent an angel to speak life to him, the Lord did not see him as he was, in his current condition, which was fearful and afraid, but he came speaking to him how the Lord saw him and how he would become.

Many times God has called us to purpose to fulfill the plan that he has for our lives, but we don’t see ourselves as God sees us, so we hide. We run from the calling that God has placed on our lives. We hide in strongholds, we hide in bondage, bad relationships, bad jobs because of fear of the unknown. Fear that we will be defeated or fear that we won’t make it. We feel like we can’t complete the task. We’re comfortable with the familiar, which makes it hard to move to the next level.

Notice what the angel of the Lord said. He said “you mighty man of valor”, God knew that Gideon was great and he called him as such. Just as the Lord knows that you are great. Only thing is, you have to believe that you are great in order to accomplish the will that God has for your life. Come out of hiding. Come out of the things that God is calling you from so that he can take you higher both in spiritual things and in the natural.

Remember, there is nothing too hard for God and the Lord is with you!
